  • How long does it take to install a fiberglass pool?

It only takes about three to six weeks for our swimming pool builders to install a fiberglass pool. This includes the pool itself, the patio, and the landscaping.

Compare this to four to eight weeks for a vinyl liner pool and three to six months for a concrete pool. Your yard could end up a wild mess, and the pool would be completely unusable that whole time.

  • Do fiberglass pools work in cold climates?

You may have heard a myth that fiberglass pools crack in cold weather. This is just bananas (B-A-N-A-N-A-S). Frozen water doesn't crack an ice cube tray. It expands a little bit upward, not outward. The same goes for a pool.

Additionally, for any type of pool in a cold climate, you should winterize your pipes (blow out the water and plug them) for the off-season. This prevents the pipes from freezing and possibly cracking. Contact us today to receive expert pool services from our swimming pool builders.

  • What is a fiberglass pool?

Pre-engineered fiberglass swimming pools are in-mold, handcrafted pools that arrive at your home ready to be installed in your yard. The fiberglass is created from millions of interwoven glass threads covered with polyester resin. It's an incredibly sturdy material that's ideal for an in-ground pool. In comparison, a concrete pool requires a steel or wooden framework that needs to be covered by a mixture of cement, sand, and water.

Wiges Outdoor Services offers a wide range of options for fiberglass pool shapes and sizes, from petite to large enough to host the neighborhood 4th of July party with room to spare. Our swimming pool builders will work with you to determine the optimal fiberglass pool shape and size for you based on your outdoor space and how you plan to enjoy your pool.

  • What is landscaping versus hardscaping?

Modern landscaping refers to the designing, planning, and construction of gardens and other features that create useable space for outdoor activities while enhancing the appearance around a home. Landscaping includes hardscaping and softscaping, although many people refer to them interchangeably.

Hardscaping is the aspect that includes non-organic materials such as stone and woodwork, retaining walls, decks, firepits, and more. Softscaping refers to planting designs, creating berms, grading, and mulching. Contact us today to beautify your home with assistance from our landscaping contractors.

  • What's the difference between annuals and perennials?

Annuals grow for one season and then die when the weather gets cold. Perennials grow for multiple seasons and regrow every spring after remaining in dormancy during the winter.

Examples of popular annuals in Iowa are pansies, snapdragons, petunias, geraniums, salvia, California poppies, violas, and many more. Some perrenial examples are daffodils, phlox, peonies, purple coneflower, daylilies, black-eyed susans, Virginia bluebells, coral bells, hostas, and more. • What are the steps involved with a typical landscape improvement project?

Every project follows three major stages when creating a beautiful, long-term successful landscape: design, installation, and maintenance. Each stage is important.

We have proven methods and experienced team members to make each part of your project an enjoyable experience with a beautiful result. Contact us today to connect with our landscaping contractors and bring your dream landscape to life.

  • What landscape elements do you design and build?

Our landscaping contractors can help you design something as simple as an elegant front walk for a new patio to a completely comprehensive site development including driveways, site grading, detailed gardens, walkways, outdoor living areas, and beautiful plantings. Reach out today to learn more.

  • What maintenance does concrete require after installation?

As with other landscaping materials, there are a few key considerations to keep in mind after your concrete has been installed.

    • Surfaces must be hosed off to remove build-up.
    • A protective mat must always be kept near your grill station to avoid grease stains.
    • Salt must never be used on your concrete.

Remember these details and you'll improve the longevity of any concrete installations you've received from landscaping contractors.

  • Do you offer financing options for a pool or landscape project?

Yes! As the swimming pool builders our community recommends, we believe it's vital to provide our customers with financing options. We look forward to working with you.
